Margaret Zainey Roux is a New Orleans-based freelance journalist, as well as a photo stylist, producer and scout. Her work has appeared in national publications including Coastal Living, Flower, and Executive Traveler and in local publications in New Orleans and Birmingham, Alabama. Her articles focus on a variety of lifestyle topics such as interiors and architecture, art, food and entertaining, gardening, fashion, and travel. Over the past 10 years, Margaret has had the great privilege of interviewing some of the most renowned interior designers, architects, artists and chefs in the country.
In 2001, Margaret earned her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Mississippi where she studied under "Mr. Magazine" Dr. Samir Husni. Out of hundreds of applicants, Margaret was selected as one of 40 to complete a post-collegiate editorial internship with the Southern Progress Corporation / Time Warmer AOL. Prior to pursuing a full-time career as a freelance journalist and decorator, she served three years as a Director of Special Events for a national non-profit organization followed by five years as the Public Relations Manager for one of the largest law firms in the South Central United States.
