Margaret Zainey Roux is a New Orleans-based freelance journalist, photo stylist, producer, scout, and principle of Style Editor Designs. Her writing has appeared in national publications including Coastal Living, Flower, and Executive Traveler and in local publications in New Orleans and Birmingham, Alabama. Her articles focus on a variety of lifestyle topics such as interiors and architecture, art, food and entertaining, gardening, fashion, and travel. After nearly a decade of covering the interior design industry and producing and styling hundreds of photo shoots, Margaret founded Style Editor Designs. To date, her custom designs can be found in local homes and throughout the pages of publications such as NOLA Baby and New Orleans Homes & Lifestyles.
Margaret graduated with Honors from the Academy of the Scared Heart in 1997, and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Mississippi where she studied under "Mr. Magazine" Dr. Samir Husni. Prior to pursuing a full-time career as a freelance journalist and decorator, she served three years as a Director of Special Events for a national non-profit organization followed by five years as the Public Relations Manager for one of the largest law firms in the South Central United States.
Margaret lives Uptown with her husband Tre' and young son Louis. She is an active member of the Junior League of New Orleans and is a founding member of the Young Friends of Saint Andrew's Village. She is the Co-Chair of the Public Relations Committee for the 2010 Secret Gardens Tour® and will also serve as Chair of the Upper Audubon Association Home Tour in 2010. Margaret has previously worked with the Ogden Museum of Southern Art's "O What A Night Gala" and Longue Vue House and Garden's "Sentimental Journeys" event.
